Now that Luke is walking, we bought him his first pair of "grown up" shoes a few months back. In typical fashion, he decided that the box they came in was his new favorite toy.
He even kicked it up a notch.. anyone can put things in a box, but how many people would take said box and make it a hat?
These photos are old enough that Luke was still crawling part time, and he decided it would be a good idea to pull the box down over his eyes, so he could crawl without being able to see where he was going.
Special Bonus Photo: Even though he is getting to be a big guy, Luke is still small enough to snuggle up with Mom.

Things That Begin with B for $200, Alex
In addition to loving to visit the many parks of Hoboken, Luke has also begun to enjoy visiting the local birds. There is an inlet near our building that is a resting & nesting spot for geese, ducks, seagulls, finches (I think?), and of course pigeons. They can hold Luke's attention longer than almost anything we have discovered to date. Note the noise he's making - he does this very infrequently otherwise, but everytime we visit the birds. We just hope that his head doesn't explode at Grammy & Grandpap's next weekend, where there are birds alllllll around.
And as a special B is for Bonus clip, Luke loves Berries - especially Blueberries. When he wasn't feeling well earlier this week, we splurged and bought the overpriced fresh ones for him and he ate them up like another baby was going to come along and eat them out from under him at any minute.

Park Season Part I
Now that he is walking, one of Luke's favorite weekend activities is going to the park, where he is fearless on the slide, and has decided swings are old hat.
We are waaaay behind on these shots, and there are only more coming, so here are a few catch up shots of him from a few weeks back:

Starting off on the swing is fine, but just an appetizer for the slide
Since this photo, he has graduated to going down the slide by himself, though he prefers the tunnel slide.

Happy Mother's Day!
While this video provides a look into Life with Luke (a room full of toys, but fixation on the basket that holds toys; hopping from toy to toy and back again; bulldog breathing...), it is also a Mothers Day greeting for his Grandma and Grammy, with lots and lots of waving included.
Happy Mother's Day, everyone!

Like a Bull in A...
Paige and her Work Husband, Lenny, have worked together for a long time - since they required special permission to sit next to each other in their cubes, promising not to socialize too much... They've worked together at 3 different companies now and Lenny & Paulo even designed Luke's nursery. In 1999, Uncle Lenny & Paulo went on vacation to Spain and brought back a little souvenir for Paige - a bull that was dubbed Barry.

A Post for Grandparents
We don't expect anyone else by blood relatives to sit through this...though it is quite cute.
Every night after dinner, if he's up for it, we have some playtime with Luke before his bath. We usually go into his room and let him hand things to us or climb on us etc. Recently, though, he has developed a routine involving a stool in his room - he spent several days mastering the climbing upon, then the standing on, and the sitting on. He doesn't seem to care that it's at an angle. He is now working on picking it up and carrying it across the room for no apparent reason (not captured here). He also does not seem to care about the pile of outgrown clothes ready to be packed away...at least he hasn't figured out how to throw them all off of the chair WHILE standing on the stool....yet.
