Scooter!

A few weeks back, we visited Luke's bff BEN. Luke got to take a spin on Ben's scooter and has discussed little since, so Mom & Dad hatched a plan, ordering a scooter online and hiding it until this (long, holiday) weekend.

On Saturday AM, Daddy & Luke let Mommy sleep in and went out on a morning "adventure." Daddy took him out to buy a helmet and knee & elbow pads. Apparently, Luke kept telling Daddy how "I need scoooooter! To wear with my helmet and paaaaads." We marveled that he had no clue what was coming.

After his nap, we broke out the scooter - along with some ground rules (never inside, only outside, always with a helmet etc). We think he likes it.

Here he is on the elevator, itching to get on it and "GO FAST IN MY HELMET!"

We got him outside and he took off like a shot (and the circular path around the fountain lends well to the fact that his lists left at all times - still working on the steering part)

He came back by to pose happily with his scooter.

Scootering is apparently thirsty-making work

On Sunday morning, he was naturally raring to get back outside to his scooter training

Still listing left, but covering more ground between stops & adjustments

Apple break!

He cooled down by putting his "piggies in the fountain" with Mama

The Bromance

The weekend before Christmas we had a snowstorm. Our friends, the Kornbluhs, came 'round to help learn to play in the snow (FAIL). So, we decamped to our apartment, played with Luke's toys while we waited for the pizza to arrive. Luke's favorite thing about the Kornbluhs is their youngest, Ben. Ben, with whom Luke goes way back, is oft-referred to around our house - sometimes Luke goes looking for him after naps, blows up his celly on pretend phone calls, and mentions him on real phone calls to Grammy. When asked who is best buddy is, the answer is almost always "BEN!"

Here, Ben's Daddy, Jed, entertains Luke, Ben, and Ben's big sister, Evie.

And Luke & Ben enjoyed the Jack in the Box monkey. (The observant may notice that Ben has a shirt identical to Luke's. Coincidence?)

And finally, TICKLE TACKLE!

Baby Ambassador of Hoboken

In the past few weeks, Luke has had the pleasure of visiting with lots of new friends in his newfound capacity as Baby Ambassodor.

He and Ronan Scott enjoyed an afternoon meeting in Hamilton, NJ while their moms enjoyed one of Sarah's gourmet lunches (mmm...pistou!).

This was apparently Ronan's first run-in with a newborn - he was a true gentleman, letting Luke get in a snuggle with his Mom...

...And he gave Luke some thumb-sucking pointers while giving him a gentle rock in his car seat.

Luke has also had some quality time with fellow Hoboken resident and trendy hand-me-down provider, Ben Kornbluh.

They had a baby summit in Luke's room, where Ben convinced Luke that he should make his activity mat work for him.

Ben was unrelenting in his assertion that the mat is a happy place - once you learn to control your hands.

Look out lady babies of Hoboken, Ben & Luke are a charming team!
