The Ol' Switcheroo

Over the summer it became clear that Luke was outgrowing (OK, or  maybe he had completely outgrown) his toddler bed, and it was really only a matter of time until Harper launched herself out of the crib, so we set about finding Luke a "Big Boy Bed," and moving Harper into the toddler bed.

Step 1: Acquire superhero (and Ninjago) sheets.  Check!
Step 2: Acquire twin mattress.  Check!

I'll take Things Found Under Luke's Pillow for $200, please, Alex.
Since Harper didn't get the excitement of picking out a new bed, she was given the option of getting a new blanket or sheets.  Of course she asked for cupcake sheets.  Who knew that this was an impossible task??  Fortunately, Mizz Karen came to Harper's rescue!  We picked out some sassy fabric and a soft soft "minky" backing and set off to Mizz Karen's to make a blanket!
Harper dressed accordingly.  (yes, that is a cupcake necklace)
Luke joined us - and the 2 of them, like so many who came before, sorted thread on the sewing table.
Harper gave it a test run before signing off.
She also explored Uncle Charlie's childhood bedroom...good job on the science fair, Uncle Charlie.
Think she likes it?
Quick test with Lion...
Good for reading, too...
APPROVED!
While no complete ejection yet, there has been some of this...
...but mostly this.
Meanwhile, on the other side of the room, Luke's snazzy new "captain's bed" finally arrived!
(we hear Santa's elves are working on the bookcase/headboard)
Luke the Boy snuggling Luke the Bear
FEETIE JAMS ARE BUSTED OUT!
Yay for new beds!
