It's true, Luke is getting his first 2 teeth (watch him chew on something and you will quickly see them peeking out).
After a lot of pictures like this

Tearing up the Dr.'s Office
Usually a kid's trip to the Dcotor's office is cause for crying and when it is time for shots, Luke is no different. However, much like Dad enjoys the Dum Dums when they are done (especially the mystery flavor), Luke enjoys tearing up the exam room.
Usually we are able to keep his hands and feet away from the exam instruments on the wall, unfortunately at the expense of the paper roll on the exam table. What starts as a smooth expanse of paper quickly turns into a spitty, wrinkly, and torn mess.
Why is this paper standing up all torn? Not because Paul was digging his heels into the table and tearing it up
How he does it up close
The result

I don't swim in your toliet, please don't pee in my pool
Luke's second trip to the pool in June was more successful than the first. Less sun, a bigger hat, and more room in the wading pool made him much happier.
First of course, he needed to put on his Mexican wrestling mask suit:
Then with his lobster hat and surf shirt he was all set to enjoy the water
this time he lasted much longer in the water with much less fussing. Enjoyment might be too strong of a word but it was good practice
Soon enough, pool time was over, and Luke enjoyed a bit of deck time in his romper and hat with Mom.
The hairline in these photos is a tip-off that this is a catch-up post.
Hopefully Luke will be ready for swim lessons with Dad soon.

Come Home Soon!
This is the last day of self-indulgent, sappy We Miss Daddy posts - at least we hope so! With all the rain predicted for the East Coast, I am trying not to worry that Paul's flight will get totally hosed by the meteorological gods...
Luke is starting to enjoy bath time more and more (he has ALMOST discovered the joys of [intentional] splashing) - but Mom is not as fun as Dad. When Dad is at the helm of bath time, it's puppet fun with Red Bath Guy (Elmo puppet washcloth) and Spider-Bath Guy* (see below). I try, but I am not as fun as Dad with Spider-Bath Guy. Luke got disgusted and took matters into his own hands (and mouth).

*It should be noted that Spider-Bath Guy was a gift to Paul from Aunt Tanya and Uncle Rob. He has now been handed down to Luke. Or he is at least on loan.

Jump! Jump! Jump!
Indulge us a little. Paul is in California on business, so I'm putting up a video of Luke in his new favorite place - his jumperoo! Thanks to Ben Kornbluh, Luke is totally going to get that bear and show him who's boss.

Goosed!
When Grammy Rosella sent Paige's birthday present last month, she made sure to include a special treat for Luke. It seems Grammy was at the Hallmark store and saw a stuffed animal scrunched on the sale table. She took pity on it, remembering that one of Paige's favorites, Easter the Elephant, had a similar provenance.
Initially, Luke was distracted by the packaging, and thought THAT was the treat Grammy had sent. He enjoyed crinkling and scrunching it greatly:
But then we showed him his real present, his goose! He taste-tested its beak by putting it in his mouth forthwith. (you can see Easter the Elephant hanging out in the background of this picture...)
Then he gave the goose (now officially called "Luke's Goose") a nice hug. Luke's Goose is now his morningtime friend - they hang out together after breakfast while Mom & Dad get ready for work. His beak is already nice and drooly.
Luke just hopes that Lucia doesn't think he's being a copy cat. Er...copy goose?
Thanks, Grammy!

The New York State Throughway is Closed, Man!
Luke's cousins (Peter and Ian) and uncle (Steve) were nice enough to tie-dye some onesies for him as part of his (pre-arrival) Christmas present. They are 12-month sized, but thanks to Luke's length (90th percentile!) and his monster sized diapers, he has been enjoying them this summer.
He enjoys rocking them with no pants or shoes, like a little hippie.
To Wit:

I can't believe this! It's been 229 days since Dark Star!
Is the news true? Is Phish really getting back together?
Wow, when you look at it from here, it does look pretty trippy.
What we have in mind is breakfast in bed for 400,000

Thanks to Peter, Ian, and Steve. not only does Luke look very cute in his shirts, but they have kept him cool and comfortable all summer!

Welcome to the OOL (There's no P in it, so let's keep it that way)
As mentioned previously, Luke took his first visit to the pool when Aunt Amy visited, hoping to cool off from the heat.
After busting out his swim pants and Mexican wrestling mask suit, as well as his fancy surf shirt (thanks Mary) Luke was ready to go splash around.
Things quickly went downhill, however, as a combo of too much sun and heat added up to a somewhat unhappy baby.
After getting out of the pool, and his wet suit, Luke then did his impression of a guy in Cabo San Lucas who drank too many umbrella drinks during the two-for-one happy hour at 11 am. [Not that his parents would know anything about that...the 4pm happy hour maybe]
He fell asleep...
...and then flopped over and slept some more.
Finally, after rousing himself and polishing off a bottle, Luke and Dad then took in a view of the NYC skyline.
Still to come... A more successful second trip to the pool!
